The Jewish Culture Club invites you to our Annual Purim Party on Sunday, March 22, at noon. (Snow date is Sunday, March 29) March is Women’s History Month. Our program honors two very special women in history. A movie entitled “Ahead of Time” will be shown and honors the remarkable heroic tenacity of Ruth Gruber aka the modern Queen Esther. “Ruth Gruber is remarkable, indefatigable, a riveting raconteur … an inspiration,” stated The New York Times. For seven decades foreign correspondent and photojournalist Gruber didn’t just report the news — she made it. This is a lunch and learn experience. Gruber was born in Brooklyn, and the film includes clips from the favorite borough of many. Queen Esther was the heroin of Purim who lived 492-460 BCE. She saved her people.
Bring your lunch and nosheri to share. We’ll eat after the movie at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy traditional hamantaschen. Wear costumes or funny hats (optional) and win prizes. Enjoy the company of others. All Villagers are welcome. Tickets at the Activities desk for $5 per person. For more information, call Celia at 203-264-0961.
